Classic style massage using the five basic strokes of effleurage (gliding), pettrisage (kneading), friction, tapping and vibration or gently rocking. Benefits include stress relief, decreased muscle tightness and pain, increased circulation.

Myofascial Release

Hands on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Lymphedema Therapy

Evaluation and treatment of all forms of lymphedema including new onset, chronic or intermittent flare-ups. Provides Complete Decongestive Therapy including Manual Lymph Drainage, wrapping, skin care and exercise instruction to reduce lymphedema and maintain skin integrity.

Massage for Clients Living With Altered Health

Combining her nursing background and bodywork modalities, Rose is very experienced treating clients living with health challenges and tailors each treatment to the individual's health state, medication, physical and age related needs. Off site appointments available to private homes, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities. Rose is very comfortable interfacing with health care providers and rehabilitation specialists to optimize outcomes for each client.

Rose has owned and operated Therapeutic Massage since 2005, a private practice providing therapeutic massage therapies. She has comprehensive education and experience that combines traditional medical knowledge with therapeutic bodywork modalities. This unique combination enables her to work with clients facing a wide variety of specific medical and physical challenges. Rose's practice is grounded in both nursing theory and hands on modalities to nurture and strengthen the healing process of each client.

Rose McCormick, Massage Therapist

Rose holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing form Wilkes University (1978). In 2005, she completed 1000 hours of training at Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage and was granted a license to practice massage therapy in New York State. She received her certification in Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy from The Doctor Vodder School (2008).

Rose volunteers at Hospice and Palliative Care, facilitating her goal to integrate complimentary therapies into the healthcare setting.
